QUESTIONS
Salams Imam,
Q-1 : Hazrat Sultan Bahu RA got WILAYAT in awakening
state same as Hazrat Shaykh Ahmed Tijani RA. Whatever books Hazrat Sultan Bahu
wrote was from the direct knowledge from Allah. Then why are there difficulties
in joining other silasil in tijaniyya if both of AWLIYA got same kind of WILAYAT
from hazrat Muhammad (SAW) in different times?
Q-2: The silsila tijaniya is according to Quran &
Sunnah, so if someone leave tijaniya and join another silsila why willhe
suffer? All Silasil start from Rasool Allah (SAW) and Hazrat ALI (RA), all other
silasil are based on QURAN & Sunnah so why there is differences?
Q-3: What if someone leaves Tijaniyya and joins another
silsila and after sometimes he wants to come back in Tijaniyya so can he come
back?
Q-4: A Tijaniyya Follower can recite wird for a whole
life, so he will be tijani, but why the FATH process is important for every
tijani ? If someone doesn’t do FATH so he will be no formal tijani or he will
not get benefits from silsila tijaniyya?
Q-5: A person told me that when someone leave Tijaniyya
so all jinnat, ruhaniyat, and other creations comes to him and kill him and
kill his childerns and he can’t settle down in life and these all jinnat and
other beings always follow him to disturb his life and kill him. Is it true
statement?
ANSWERS
Wa Alaykum As-Salam my brother,
Regarding the questions you sent, they are generally
similar in content. The answer is:
Know first and foremost that a seeker or student needs
only ONE TEACHER, and can handle only ONE TEACHER.
Even if there are many good teachers out there that you
respect, you will only follow one.
The same is in Sufism. There are many Salasil and many
Shaykhs. But a seeker can only follow ONE SHAYKH, in order to grow spiritually.
Otherwise, he is just fooling around with himself and with those Shaykhs.
All Turuq are based on the broad principles of Qur'an and
Sunnah, otherwise they would be rejected. Their differences are based on what
they emphasize on more, and what they feel is the shortest and best way to
approach God. And they all derive that from the Ocean of the Prophet (SAW),
zahiran wa batinan.
Yes, many different Awliya in this blessed Ummah continue
to see the Prophet (SAW) and receive Gifts from him. Sultan Bahu (RA) was one
of them also and we don't deny it ever.
The Prophet (SAW) cares for all Tariqahs, in fact, the
whole Ummah and the whole Universe. His barakah is everywhere with everybody.
We don't ever limit it to the Tijanis.
However, we do believe that the Prophet (SAW) gave a most
special and unique gift of his own WIRD to his beloved son Sidi Shaykh Ahmad
al-Tijani (RA). Furthermore, the Prophet (SAW) also instructed the Shaykh (RA)
that whoever takes this gift from him should not combine it with other
Dhikrs....even if they are also from the Prophet (SAW).
A doctor may give different prescriptions to different
people and tell them to not to mix it.
So a Tijani cannot mix his Tariqah with others, by the
prohibition of the Prophet (SAW) himself. We must respect his wishes (SAW).
Those other Dhikrs (Qadiri, Chishti, Naqshi,
Shadhili...etc)...even if from the Prophet (SAW) himself, were meant for other
people in other times, not for the Tijanis.
Those Dhikrs were optional in any case. The Obligations
(Fards) remain the same for all Muslims. We Tijanis are bound to practice the
fards of Islam, but not those optional Dhikrs of other Tariqahs.
Now, if a person takes the Tijani Tariqah believing that
this special Tijani Wird was given by the Prophet (SAW) himself to the Shaykh
al-Tijani (RA), and then later on considers it "not good enough" and
wishes to leave it, then indeed, he will suffer spiritually and will not
benefit from any other Wali.
This is what we believe (but don't force anyone else to
believe that).
Shaykh Ahmad Tijani (RA) is also the Seal of the Saints.
Leaving his Tariqah after practicing it, is like walking backwards. Such a
person will not benefit from any saint nor will any saint help him.
The mid-19th Century Mauritanian Tijani scholar Sidi
al-Tijani Baba writes in his famous poem Munyat al-Murid (that he authored in
Ayn Madi at the behest of our Masters sons):
و من
لبعض ما تقدم
نبذ
يخسر في الدارين إن كان أخذ
و ذا لوعيد قاله خيرالورى
لشيخنا
يقظة بلا مرا
و من يتب من فعله و يندم
ثم
يجدد الطريق يسلم
The
one that rejects what we mentioned (i.e. the conditions of our Path)
after
taking it....he will lose in both worlds
And this is due to the Warning given by the Best
of Creation (SAW)
to
our Shaykh (al-Tijani) in Wakefulness, without doubt
As
for the one that repents from his action and regrets
and
then returns to the Tariqah and renews it...then he will be saved
Will
such a person be "killed by Jinn" as you ask?
I
have not read or heard that from any of our Shaykhs.
Nevertheless,
it may have happened to some people who left the Tijani Way with bad adab and
disrespect. Such problems happened to people who disrespect any Wali of Allah
from any Tariqah...so what about the Khatam al-Awliya!
I
personally know of a person who got afflicted with Jinn after he left the
Tijani Way out of disrespect and negligence and joined another Tariqah (in
which also he was lazy and non-practicing!)
This
is not a game! This is the MOST serious thing in one's life as it is about
one's connection with Allah (SWT) and Rasul (SAW).
Some
people join Tariqahs insincerely and leave insincerely, and then get cursed
sincerely!
May
Allah protect us. Amin.
As
for the one who fully believes in the Tariqah and loves it, but wants to leave
it for while as he cannot practice the Awrad?
Well,
such a person must try very hard to make time for Allah and His Prophet (SAW).
However,
if he still feels very lazy and sinful and wants to leave the Tariqah for a
while, then he must make the Kaffarah (atonement) of breaking an oath, as
taking the Tariqah is an oath to Allah. The Kaffarah would be fasting for 3
consecutive days.
This
last point was mentioned by Sidi Salaheddin al-Tijani of Egypt in his book
Kitab al-Nur fi al-Tariqah al-Tijaniyyah.
This
only applies to persons who leave the Tariqah temporarily, without any malice
or disrespect, and without going to any other Tariqah. Just lovers who are lazy
to please their beloved.
Hasbuna
Allah!
Can
such people return to the Tariqah???
Yes
of course. The Doors of the Tariqah are wide open till death. To return to
Istighfar, Salat ala an-Nabi and Kalimah Shahadah is the best thing to do.
We
know of people who left the Tariqah, faced great trials in life, and came back
and are now great Muqaddams Arifin-Billah!
The
door of Tawbah is always open. Allah is always calling us back to His
Remembrance.
However,
the person must return to the Path out of sincere love for Allah (SWT), Rasul
(SAW) and Shaykh (RA)....and not out of fear of punishments, jinns...etc!
One
should not also recite the Awrad for the sake of Fa'th (Spiritual Openings).
These Openings are already guaranteed to Tijanis in their own time. One must
recite the Dhikrs for the sake of ALLAH only. Recite the Awrad and obey your
Shaykh of Tarbiyah, and the Fat'h will come in its own time. Love is the Key.
Mawlana
Shaykh Ibrahim Niasse (RA) stated:
"It
is very ugly that a person should recite Adhkar looking for Fat'h from Allah.
He should recite them for Allah only. If the Fat'h comes, then very good. If
does not come, then it is enough blessing that you spent your life praising
Allah. The greater reward is in the Hereafter."
You
will get the Ma'rifah just by being in the company of people of Ma'rifah, as
Shaykh Ibrahim (RA) stated in the Ruh al-Adab.
Al-HumduliLlah!
We are now in the Age of the Predicted Ahmadi Tijani Faydah! The Ma'rifah is no
more as difficult to achieve as it was before. Just to love the Sahib al-Faydah
(RA) also guarantees the Ma'rifah. He (RA) said:
و أطوي لمن قد حبني كل مهمه
إلى الحضرة العليا و لو كنت رامزا
And
I make short the roads to the Divine Presence...for all those who love me
Even
through my signals and signs (in addition to my words and actions)
The
only one who won't benefit is the one that fights him (RA).
May
Allah keep us steadfast,
Was-Salam
Servant
of the Tijani Door
