POEM IN PRAISE OF SHAYKH AHMAD TIJANI (RA) TRANSCRIBED OPPOSITE HIS BLESSED TOMB IN THE HOLY ZAWIYAH IN FAS
- By the renowned Muqaddam of Fas Sidi al-Ghali al-Santisi (RA) -
و مِنْ شِعْرِهِ أَبْيَات نُقِشَتْ مُقَابِل ضَرِيح مَوْلَانَا الشَّيْخِ أَبِي العَبَّاسِ التِّجَانِي رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
This poem is inscribed on the wall opposite the tomb of Shaykh Ahmad Tijani (RA) in Fas, Morocco.
هَذَا المَزَارُ فَخُذْ لِلقَلْبِ مَثْوَاهُ
وَابْشِرْ بِنَيْلِكَ مَا تَرْجُو وَ تَهْوَاهُ
This is the place of visitation, so make it the abode of your heart!
And rejoice in attaining all that you wish & desire!
وَابْسُطْ يَمِينَكَ وَالأُخْرَى قُبَالَةَ مَنْ
مَقَامُهُ مَنْزِلُ المُخْتَارِ مَأْوَاهُ
And stretch your hands towards the one whose tomb…
is (in reality) the abode of the Chosen Prophet (SAW)!
ذَاكَ التِّجَانِي أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ سَيِّدُنَا
مَلَاذُنَا أَحْمَدُ بُشْرَى بِلُقْيَاهُ
That is the TIJANI…ABUL-ABBAS…our Master!
Our refuge AHMAD…Congratulations for meeting him!
خَتْمُ الوِلَايَةِ سِرُّ الحَقِّ مَظْهَرُهُ
بَحْرُ الْمَعَارِفِ بَدْءُ الخَلْقِ رُؤْيَاهُ
The Seal of Sainthood, the Secret of the Real & His Manifestation!
The Ocean of Divine Knowledge, seen from the beginning of Creation!
كَذَا الصَّلَاةُ لَدَيْكَ بِالْقَبُولِ سَمَتْ
فَاللَّهُ أَكْرَمَهُ حَقًّاً وَ أَرْضَاهُ
Indeed, Salat (Prayer) in his presence is also surely accepted!
For Allah has truly honoured & pleased him!
رِدْ وِرْدَهُ وَ تَضَمَّخْ مِنْ عَوَاطِرِهِ
وَامْلَأْ بِفَاتِحَةٍ وَقْتاً لِيَرْضَاهُ
So drink from his Wird & perfume yourself from its fragrance!
And fill your time with Salat al-Fatih, so he may be pleased with you!

Bughyat al-Mustafid is one of the most important works on the history and rulings of the Tijani Tariqah. Written by Sidi al-Arabi ibn Sa'ih, nicknamed the "Bukhari of the Path", it summarizes the biographical accounts from Jawahir al-Ma'ānī and codifies the rulings of the path that had been scattered in different locations. The author's critical placement in the history of the path, having met many of the Companions of the Shaykh himself, as well as many of the imminent muqaddams, made him an indispensable source of clarity on many of the issues a Tijani disciple will face while walking the path.
The book also serves as a bridge to longer or more complicated works. It has been said, "If you want to read Jawahir al-Ma'ani, read Bughyat al-Mustafid first." This is because he clarifies some of the issues in Jawahir al-Ma'ani that may lead to a disciple having doubts or some misunderstandings.
