رسالة من مولانا الختم الكتم سيدي أحمد التجاني رضى الله عنه

    لسيدي أبي القاسم العنابي ينصحه فيها بملازمة صلاة الفاتح لما أغلق:

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ 

وَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ وَ صَحْبِهِ وَ سَلَّمَ

In the Name of Allah, the Most-Merciful, the Ever-Merciful

And may His Blessings & Peace be upon our master Muhammad and his Family & Companions!

 

 بَعْدَ حَمْدِ اللهِ جَلَّ جَلَالُهُ وَ عَزَّ كِبْرِيَاؤُهُ وَ تَعَالَى عِزُّهُ وَ تَقَدَّسَ مَجْدُهُ وَ كَرَمُهُ

After praising Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious, the Most Magnificent, the Most Holy & Most Generous!

 

يَصِلُ الْكِتَابُ إِلَىٰ يَدِ حَبِيبِنَا سَيِّدِي أَبِي الْقَاسِمِ العَنَّابِي،

May this letter reach the hands of our beloved Sidi Abil-Qasim al-Annabi

 

السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالَى وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ

May the Peace, Mercy & Blessings of Allah be upon you!

 

مِنْ كَاتِبِهِ إِلَيْكَ الْعَبْدُ الْفَقِيرُ إِلَى اللَّهِ أَحْمَدُ بِنْ مُحَمَّدٍ التِّجَانِيُّ ؛

To you, from the writer: the needy servant of Allah, Ahmad bin Muhammad al-Tijani

 

وَ بَعْدُ فَالَّذِي أَنْصَحُكَ بِهِ كُلُّ مَا أَنْتَ مَشْغُوفٌ بِهِ مِنْ طَلَبِ الْوِلَايَةِ وَ الْمَقَامَاتِ

My advice to you regarding what you fervently seek of Wilayah (Sainthood) & its Maqams (Ranks)

 

لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنْهُ إِلَّا التَّعَبُ وَ لَا تَحْصُلُ مِنْهُ عَلَى طَائِلٍ

is that you will gain nothing from it except weariness & no benefit at all!

فَإِنَّ الأُمُورَ كُلَّهَا فِي يَدِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ مَضَى حُكْمُهُ وَ قِسْمَتُهُ فِيهَا قَبْلَ خَلْقِ الْأَكْوَانِ

As all matters are in Almighty Allah’s Hand   and His decree & portioning of it has been issued before the creation of the universe!

 

 فَلَا يَنَالُكَ مِنْهَا إِلَّا مَا قَسَمَهُ لَكَ قَبْلَ خَلْقٍ الأَكْوَانِ

Therefore you will attain nothing of it except what was decreed for you before the creation of the universe

 

وَ مَا لَمْ تَمْضِ بِهِ القِسْمَةُ فَلَا سَبِيلَ إِلَيْهِ وَ لَا تُفِيدُ فِيهِ حِيلَةٌ

And that which has not been decreed; you will never find a path to it, no matter how you try!

 

وَ الْأَمْرُ هُوَ أَنْ تَعْبُدَ اللَّهَ لِوَجْهِهِ فَقَطْ

Thus, the sum of the matter is to simply worship ALLAH for His sake only!   

 

وَ السَّعَادَةُ وَ الخَيْرُ أَنْ تُدَاوِمَ عَلَى صَلَاةِ الْفَاتِحِ لِمَا أُغْلِقَ

 And all bliss & goodness is in regularly reciting the Salat al-Fatih lima ughliq…

 

بِحُضُورِ القَلْبِ نَاوِيًا بِهَا تَعْظِيمَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ تَعْظَيمَ رَسُولِهِ ﷺ

with the presence of the heart, intending to honour Allah & His Prophet (SAW)

 

وَ الشَّرْطُ الْمُكَمِّلُ لَهَا هُوَ حُضُورُ القَلْبِ وَ أَنْ تَتَخَيَّلَ فِي وَقْتِ تِلَاوَتِهَا أَنَّكَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ﷺ          تُصَلِّي عَلَيْهِ كَأَنَّهُ حَاضِرٌ مَعَكَ

And its condition of perfection is to be present with your heart & visualize during your recital that you are sitting in the presence of the Prophet (SAW), reciting Salawat on him while he is with you!

 

فَإِنْ دَاوَمْتَ عَلَى هَذَا مَعَ وِرْدٍ مِنْ ذِكْرِ اللهِ، أَقْبَلَتِ الخَيْرَاتُ إِلَيْكَ،

If you do this, together with a Wird of Dhikr-Allah, all goodness will come your way!

 

وَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ وَ صَحْبِهِ وَ سَلَّمَ

And may the Blessings & Peace of Allah be upon our master Muhammad & his Family & Companions!

THE PRAYER OF DIVINE PLEASURE

 صلاة رضا الله تعالى- -

Prescribed by Shaykh Sidi Ahmad al-Tijani (RA)

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى سيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Sayyidinā Muḥammad

O Allah send Your blessings upon our master Muhammad

 السَّابِقِ لِلْخَلْقِ نُورُهُ

as-sābiq lil-khalqi nūruhu 

Whose light preceded all Creation!

وَالرَّحْمَةُ لِلْعَالَمِينَ ظُهُورُهُ

wa-r raḥmatu lil-ʿālamīna ẓuhūruhu

And whose appearance was a mercy for the worlds!

عَدَدَ مَنْ مَضَى مِنْ خَلْقِكَ وَ مَنْ بَقِيَ

ʿadada man maḍā min khalqika wa man baqiya 

(Blessings) the sum of all those who passed from Your creation & all those who remain!

وَ مَنْ سَعِدَ مِنْهُمْ وَ مَنْ شَقِيَ

wa man saʿida minhum wa man shaqiya

And all those who are fortunate among them & all those who are unfortunate!

صَلاةً تَسْتَغْرِقُ الْعَدَّ

ṣalātan tastaghriqu al-ʿadda

A Blessing that exhausts all numbers!

 وَ تُحِيطُ بِالْحَدِّ

wa tuḥīṭu bil-ḥaddi

And extends to all limits!

  صَلَاةً لَا غَايَةَ لَهَا وَ لَا انْتِهَاءَ

ṣalātan lā ghāyata lahā wa lā intihāʾ 

A Blessing that is limitless & endless!

وَ لَا أَمَدَ لَهَا وَ لَا انْقِضَاءَ

wa lā amada lahā wa lā inqiḍāʾ

(A Blessing) that is timeless and non-stop!

صَلَاتَكَ الَّتِي صَلَّيْتَ عَلَيْهِ

ṣalātaka al-latī ṣallayta ʿalayhi 

The Blessing that You personally blessed him with!

صَلَاةً دَائِمَةً بِدَوَامِكَ

ṣalātan dāʾimatan bidawāmika 

A Blessing that continues with Your Being

بَاقيةً بِبَقَائِكَ

bāqiyatan bibaqāʾika

And remains as long as You remain

 وَ عَلَى آلِهِ وَ أَصْحَابِهِ كَذَلِكَ

wa ʿalā ālihi wa aṣḥābihi kadhālik

And upon his Family & Companions as well

وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَى ذَلِكَ

wal-ḥamdu lillāhi ʿalā dhālik

And all praise be for Allah for that!

NOTE:

Sayyiduna Shaykh Ahmad al-Tijani (RA) is narrated to have stated that whoever recites this Salat 10 times in the morning & the evening after the Fajr & Asr prayers, will attain the grand pleasure of Allah, be safe from Divine Wrath and be surrounded by Divine Mercy & Shelter. It is also stated that one recitation of this blessed Salat is equal to the recitation of 10,000 Salawat and that it is a sure cure for all difficulties.

A PRAYER FOR SEEING THE BLESSED PROPHET (SAW)

 صلاة لرؤية النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في اليقظة

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Most-Merciful, the Ever-Merciful

 

اللَّهُمَّ اجْمَعْ جَمِيعَ أَذْكَارِ الذَّاكِرِينَ

Allahumma Ijma‘ Jamī‘a Adhkar adh-Dhākirīna

O Allah! Combine all the Dhikrs (prayers) of those praying…

 

 وَ جَمِيعَ صَلَوَاتِ الْمُصَلِّينَ

wa Jamī‘a Salawāti-l Musallīna

and all the Salawat of those sending Salawat (on the Prophet SAW)  

 

 وَاجْعَلْ لِي جَمِيعَ الأَذْكَارِ ذِكْرِي

Waj‘al Lī Jamī‘ al-Adhkhāri Dhikrī

And turn all those Dhikrs into my Dhikr

 

 وَ جَمِيعَ الصَّلَوَاتِ صَلَاتِي

wa Jamī‘ as-Salawāti Salātī

And turn all those Salawat into my Salawat

 

 عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ شَفِيعِ الْمُذْنِبِينَ

‘Alā Sayyidinā Muhammadin Shafī‘ il-Mudhnibīna

Upon our master Muhammad, the Intercessor for the Sinful

 

 وَ عَلَى آلِهِ الْأَبْحُرِ الْكَامِلِينَ

Wa ‘alā Ālihi-l Ab'huri il-Kāmilīna

And upon his Family, the Oceans (of Sainthood) & Complete Ones!

 

 عَدَدَ مَا فِي عِلْمِكَ يَا رَبِّ

‘Adada mā fī ‘ilmika, Yā Rabbi!

According to the number of all that is in Your Knowledge O Our Lord!

Hadith

 

عن أبي سعيد الخدري رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم أنه قال:

 It is related by Abu-Sa’id al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him,that the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:

مَن رَآنِي فقَدْ رَأَى الحَقَّ فإنَّ الشَّيْطانَ لا يَتَكَوَّنُنِي

“Whoever sees me, sees me truly. For Satan cannot take my shape.”

رواه البخاري (6997) 

Narrated by Imam al-Bukhari

NOTE: 

و في الجامع أن سيدنا رضي الله عنه كان يقرأ هذا الدعاء في عدد لرؤية النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في اليقظة.

 

It is narrated in the Kitab al-Jami‘ that Mawlana Shaykh Ahmad al-Tijani (RA) would recite the above mentioned Salawat in a large number in order to see the Prophet (SAW) while awake. He (RA) also recommended this to others, in addition to the blessed Salat al-Fatih.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ الْفَاتِحِ لِمَا أُغْلِقَ

وَالْخَاتِمِ لِمَا سَبَقَ نَاصِرِ الْحَقِّ بِالْحَقِّ

وَالْهَادِي إِلَى صِرَاطِكَ الْمُسْتَقِيمِ

وَ عَلَى آلِهِ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ وَ مِقْدَارِهِ الْعَظِيمِ

PERMISSION FOR JAWHARAT AL-KAMĀL

Question:

I found that Jawharat al Kamaal originated from Prophet (SM) who gave it to Sidi Ahmad al-Tijani (RA) in a wakeful state. This has now several versions. As it originated from Tijani Sufi Order, they ask that only mureeds of that order may recite it, and if anyone else recites it without their permission, harm may be caused to them.

Secondly, I have never heard before that reciting salawat might cause harm to any human beings. So, what must be believed? Is it not confusing?

Answer:

Wa Alaykum as-Salam,

There is no harm in any form of Salawat.

However, some Khass (special) forms of Salawat are very heavy on the soul, and therefore require the Idhn (permission) of a complete Spiritual Master to recite them.

If an uninitiated person recites them, he may not be able to handle their heaviness.

We have personally seen this.

Wad-khulu ‘l-Buyuta min Abwabiha…{Enter the houses through their doors}!

Our Nabi (SAW) had the Idhn to carry the Quran (alam nash-rah laka  sadrak), and we have it through him.

Other than that, human beings would have perished by the recitation of even one Ayah of the Sacred Kalam that can blow mountains asunder.
