ISTIGHFAR AL-KHIDR (AS)  إستغفار الخضر عليه السلام

(A PRAYER FOR FORGIVENESS NARRATED FROM THE KHIDR ALAYHIS-SALAM)

Prescribed by Shaykh Ahmad al-Tijani (RA) in the mornings & the evenings,

saying: “Whoever recites it once, all his sins will be forgiven” (Rawd al-Muhibb)

  

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّى أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ مِنْ كُلِّ ذَنْبٍ تُبْتُ إِليْكَ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ عُدْتُ فِيهِ

Allahumma Innī astaghfiruka min kulli dhanbin Tubtu ilayka minhu thumma 'udtu feehi

O Allah! I seek Your forgiveness from every sin I repented from and then reverted to!

وَ أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ مِنْ كُلِّ مَا وَعَدْتُكَ بِهِ منْ نَفْسِى ثُمَّ لَمْ أُوْفِ لَكَ بِهِ

Wa astaghfiruka min kulli ma wa'adtuka bihi min nafsī thumma lam ūfī laka bihi

And I seek Your forgiveness from every promise I made to You and did not fulfil!

 وَ أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ مِنْ كُلِّ عَمَلٍ أَرَدْتُ بِهِ وَجْهَكَ فَخَالَطَنِى فِيهِ غَيْرُكَ

wa astaghfiruka min kulli 'amalin aradtu bihi waj'haka fakhalatanī feehi ghayruka

And I seek Your forgiveness from every action I intended to do for Your sake but mixed it with other intentions!

وَ أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ مِنْ كُلِّ نِعْمَةٍ أَنْعَمْتَ بِهَا عَلَىَّ فَاسْتَعَنْتُ بِهَا عَلَى مَعْصِيَتِكَ

wa astaghfiruka min ni'imatin an'amta bihā 'alayya fa-sta'antu bihā 'alā ma'asiyatika

And I seek Your forgiveness for every blessing you blessed me with, and I used it towards disobeying You!

وَ أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ يَا عَالِمَ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ مِنْ كُلِّ ذَنْبٍ

wa astaghfiruka Ya 'Ālima-l Ghayb wa Shahāda min kullum dhanbin

And I seek Your forgiveness O Knower of all private and all public matters…

أَذْنَبْتُهُ فِى ضِيَاءِ النَّهَارِ أَوْ سَوَادِ اللَّيْلِ

adhnabtuhu fi diyā'i-n nahari aw sawādi-l layli

from every sin I committed in the light of day or the darkness of night…

فِى مَلأٍ أَوْ خَلَاَءٍ أَوْ سِرٍّ أَوْ عَلَانِيَةٍ يَا حَلِيمُ

fi mala'in aw khala'in sirrin aw 'alāniyatun Ya Haleem

with others or alone, privately or publicly…O Most Forbearing One!

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ الْفَاتِحِ لِمَا أُغْلِقَ وَالْخَاتِمِ لِمَا سَبَقَ

نَاصِرِ الْحَقِّ بِالْحَقِّ وَالْهَادِي إِلَى صِرَاطِكَ الْمُسْتَقِيمِ

وَ عَلَى آلِهِ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ وَ مِقْدَارِهِ الْعَظِيمِ

Allahumma salli 'alā Sayyidinā Muhammadin. Al-Fātihi Limā Ughliqa wal Khātimi Limā Sabaqa. Nāsiri-l Haqqi bil Haqqi Wa l Hādī ilā Sirātikal Mustaqīm. Wa 'alā ālihi haqqa qadrihi wa miqdarihi l Azeem.

And O Allah! Send Your blessings upon our master Muhammad! The Opener of what was closed and the Sealer of what preceded him! The Supporter of the Truth by the Truth! And the Guide to Your straight path! And upon his family too, in accordance with his enormous rank & capacity!
