THE HADITH OF WILAYAH (SAINTHOOD)

ﷺ:قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ 

The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said:

إِنَّ اللَّه تَعَالَى قَالَ:

Indeed, Allah Most High says:

مَنْ عَادَى لِي وَلِيّاً فَقَدْ آذَنْتُهُ بِالْحَرْبِ

Whoever fights a Wali (Saint) of Mine, I declare war on him!

 وَ مَا تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيَّ عَبْدِي بِشَيْءٍ أَحَبَّ إِلَيَّ مِمَّا افْتَرَضْتُ عَلَيْهِ

And the most beloved of actions My servant can do to come closer to Me,

are those actions that I made Fard (obligatory) on him!

 وَ مَا يَزالُ عَبْدِي يَتَقرَّبُ إِلَيَّ بِالنَّوَافِلِ حَتَّى أُحِبَّهْ

Thereafter, my servant continues coming closer to Me

through Nawafil (voluntary) actions until I love him!

 فَإِذَا أَحْبَبْتُهُ كُنْتُ سَمْعَهُ الَّذِي يَسْمَعُ بِهِ

And when I love him, I become his hearing by which he hears!

 وَ بَصَرَهُ الَّذِي يُبْصِرُ بِهِ

And his sight by which he sees!

 وَ يَدَهُ الَّتِي يَبْطِشُ بِهَا

And his hand by which he strikes!

 وَ رِجْلَهُ الَّتِي يَمْشِي بِهَا

And his leg by which he walks!

 وَ إِنْ سَأَلَنِي أَعْطَيْتَهُ

And if he asks me for anything, I will give it to him!

 وَ لَئِنْ إِسْتَعَاذَنِي لَأُعِيذَنَّهُ

And if he seeks my protection, I will grant it to him!
