COMBINATION OF THE SHARI’AH AND TARIQAH IN THE SAHIB AL-FAYDAH

 

As-Salam Alaykum dear Swimmers in the Flood of the Tijani,

 

As we celebrate the Birth of Sayyidna Shaykh-al-Islam al-Haj Ibrahim Niyass (RA) on the 15th of Rajab (which is the date of his passing as well), I translate for you here an important poem of the Sahib-al-Faydah, in which he alludes (a little bit) to his Maqam and Reality, with the Permission of Allah.

 

Some parts of this may not be understood by those who have not yet completed the stages of Tarbiyah. However, those who understand; may enjoy those parts, and those who can't understand should ignore them and make an effort to grow in the Ma’rifah of Allah under the guidance of a Murabbi Kamil in this Tariqah (and there are many as predicted by Mawlana al-Qutb al-Maktum).

 

Here is the Poem of Ibrahima Abd-Allah (RA)! Ponder and Ponder again:

وقد تم فتحي عند مهدي وقد عنت

جميع رجال الغيب تحت قضائي

 

And My Opening took place in my cradle (when I was born)!

And all the Men of the Unseen are under my Authority

 

*

 

فما قطعوا في الشرق والغرب فدفداً

إلى   مكة   إلا   لشم   شذاء

 

And none travels from the East and the West…

Towards Mecca except to Smell My Fragrance!

 

*

 

ولما لا وعيني اليوم عين محمد

سرى سره في هيكلي وروائي

 

And why not? When my Being today is the Being of Muhammad (saw)!

His Secret flows in my Body and Spirit!

 

*

 

وأهل زماني كلهم فاز راقياً

سوى من قلا نهجي أسير هواء

 

And all the People of My Age have attained a High Status

Except the one who fight My Path, the slave of his desires

 

*

 

وبي يرفع الجور العظيم وإنه

بفيضي ينال الدين رفع لواء

 

And through me the Great Oppression (Colonialism) will be lifted!

And through my Faydah, the Banner of Din will be raised high

 

*

 

ومن شاء يأتيه قبيل مماته

ومن شاء ناواه كأهل شقاء

 

So whoever wishes, may come to it before he dies

And whoever wishes, may fight it, like all the unfortunate ones

 

*

 

و من رام أطفاءً لنور إلهنا

أبى الله أن يطفيه رغم عداء

 

And whoever wishes to extinguish the Light of our Lord

Know that Allah refues to extinguish it despite your enmity!

 

*

 

هدمت  الذي  قد  أسسوه  وإنني

بسر  المقفى  لا  يهد    بنائي

 

Indeed, I have destroyed all that they have built (to fight me)

And through the Secret of the Final Prophet, My Building cant be destroyed

 

*

 

رموني و ما نولوا مرادا وإنني

أمزق   بالماحي   جموع   عدائي

 

They attacked me but they did not achieve their goal

Indeed, through the Mahy (SAW), I have destroyed the armies of my enemies

 

*

 

وما قلته شطحاً ودعوى عريضة

وهبت جميع الفائزين ولائي

 

And I have not said this in intoxication or as baseless claims!

Indeed, I have granted all the winners my Protection

1-Mawlana Shaykh Ibrahim (RA) prays to Allah Almighty in his Divinely inspired Dua (Da’irat al-Matalib):

 

“And that You flow on me the Spiritual Emanations of the Shaykh al-Khatm al-Tijani forever and ever.

 

And that You make me inherit the Secret of the Shaykh al-Khatm al-Tijani and the Secret of all His Khulafa.

 

And that You grant me;

 

the Qutbaniyyah of the Tamasini,

 

the Istiqamah of Shaykh Muhammad al-Hafiz,

 

the Rujuliyyah of al-Sayyid Muhammad Fal,

 

the Tarbiyah of the two Ahmads (Bin al-Hafiz and Bin Baddi),

 

the Suluk of Sidi Mawlud Fal,

 

the Mahabbah of Sidi Muhammad Mawlud Fal,

 

 the Ulum of Sidi al-Arabi (bin al-Sa’ih),

 

 the Ma’arif of Abd-Allah bin al-Haj (al-Alawi),

 

 the Quwwah of al-Haj Abd-Allahi (Niyass) in the Din, and his Zuhd, Wara‘, Ilm, Adab, and the Excellence of his children,

 

And that You grant me:

 

the Rizq of Shaykh Umar (al-Futi),

 

and the Qubul of al-Haj Malick (Sy) and the love of Your servants for him.”

 2-And the Sahib al-Faydah al-Tijaniyyah (RA) also prays in the end of his other most amazing Divinely inspired Dua, the Kanz al-Awliya:

 

 “Al-Hamdu’Lillah!

 

 Alif Lam Mim!

 

 Was-Salatu Was-Salamu ala Sayyidina Muhammadin wa ala Aalihi Haqqa Qadrihi wa Miqdarihi ’l-Azim…

 

 O Allah! I ask You O who is Alif-Lam-Mim to:

 

 Make me inherit all those who have passed from Your Representatives from the Time of the Sahabah till this Day of ours.

 

 And make me the Inheritor (Khalifah) of the manifest and hidden caliphate (khilafah):

 

 the caliphate of Adam,

 

 the caliphate of Dawud,

 

 the caliphate of Sulayman bin Dawud,

 

the caliphate of Dhu ’l-Qarnayn,

 

the caliphate of 'Ali Harazim, in which is included the caliphate of (Abd-al-Qadir) al-Jili, al-Shadhili, al-Mursi and (Ibn-Arabi) al-Hatimi,

 

and the caliphate of these successors, and the caliphate of their successors from the time of the Companions and so on.

 

 And if I am not deserving of Your Mercy! (then nevertheless) Your Mercy is surely capable of encompassing me”.

Shaykh Ibrahim’s Dua for the Complete Khilafah:

 

Requesting the Khilafah from its owner Rasul-Allah (SAW), Shaykh Ibrahim (RA) wrote:

 

Bada li Anna ’l-Mustafa al-Dahri Murshidi

Wa Mahma Yakun Amrun Fa-Dhalika Masnadi

 

It has become apparent to me that the Mustafa (SAW) is my eternal Mentor

And whatever matter takes place, He is my Backer

 

 

Wa Minka Arumu ’l-Fawza wa ’l-Fadla wa ’l-Jada

Ala Raghmi Anfin min baghidin wa hussadi

 

And from you I seek Success, Grace and Bounty

Despite all those who hate me and are jealous of me

 

 

Wa inna Muradi an Anal Khilafatan

Ala Wafqi ma Ahwa Bi-Jahi Muhammadi

 

And my desire is to gain the (complete) Khilafah

In accordance with my wishes, through the Honor Muhammad (SAW)

 

 

The great Tijani Master, Arif-bi’Llah Shaykh Abu-Bakr Atiq (RA) writes in the footnote to this couplet:

 

“There is absolutely no doubt that he gained it (i.e. the Khilafah), for he is al-Khalifah al-Jami‘ wa ’l-Ghawth al-Nafi‘.”

 

 

Shaykh Ibrahim (RA) himself stated that his Desires were fulfilled:

 

Ra’aytu Rasul-Allahi Jada bi-Bughyati

Wa ma Ghaba anni ’d-Dahra Barran wa la Barra!

 

I saw the Messenger of Allah (SAW) granting me my Wishes

And indeed, he is never ever absent from me, (whether I am) on Land or on Sea!

 

 

The Sahib al-Faydah (RA) also wrote in his Nafahat al-Malik al-Ghani:

 

Wa Man Yuhibbuni wa man Yarani

Fi Jannati ’l-Khuldi bila Buhtani

 

And whoever loves me or sees me

Will enter Paradise without doubt

 

Idh Annani Khalifat al-Tijani

Mawhibatan min Ahmad al-Adnani

 

As I am the Khalifah of (Ahmad) al-Tijani

A Gift from the (Prophet) Ahmad al-Adnani (SAW)

 

Man Shakka fi dha; Fa-Ara wa Asma’u

Min Haythu la Yara ’l-Fata wa Yasma’u

 

If anyone doubts this, then let him know that I See and Hear

What others cannot see of hear!
