"ARE ALL TIJĀNIYYA CONSIDERED SHURAFĀʾA?"

 

Q: Are all Tijāniyya considered Shurafāʾa?

A: Yes; this virtue is mentioned by the great 19th-century Algerian muqaddam Sīdī Maḥmūd ibn al-Matmatiyya [RA] in his amazing work Gharāʾibu ʾl-Burāhīn fī Manāqib Sāḥibi Tamāsīn:

قد أثبتتّ في هذا الجدول المبارك لكل واحد من الأصحاب المشار إليهم عند ذكر نسبته شرفه المتّصل بالمصطفى - صلى الله عليه وسلم - فإنْ كان له شرف طيني محقق عند قومه وأهله فإنّي أصرّح له بذلك وإن لم يشتهر بذلك فإني أطلق شرفه وأكِلُ نسبته إلى الدائرة الشريفة الكبرى أي أني أشهد بشرفه بقلبي، وأكتب له ذلك بيدي عند ذكر نسبه على ما تقتضيه خصوصية هذه الطريقة المحمّدية الكتمية في هذا البساط الشّرفي العالي

وكيف لا وأنّ كل من تمسّك بعهدها الأحمديّ العزيز واستند بإخلاص إلى كهفها الشّامخ عدّ من أبناء النّبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - من غير نزاع في ذلك بين خواصّ حضرتها الختميّة العليّة وكما يطلق على هذا المُريد الأحمديّ عندهم رضي الله عنهم بأنه من أصحاب النّبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم -ومن فقرائه وتلامذته وأحبابه - صلى الله عليه وسلم - كذلك هو عندهم شريف أيضا من آل بيته الطيبين الطاهرين ولولم تتحقّق نسبته الطينية الطاهرة عندهأو عند أهله، نعم هو بمجرّد انخراطه في هذا السّلك المحمّدي الرّفيع شريف محقّق الشّرف في دائرته - صلى الله عليه وسلم - الخصوصية تلك الدائرة المصطفويّة العلويّة التي تشرّفت بشرفه - صلى الله عليه وسلم - قبل خلق السّماوات والأرضين جميعا وما يعقلها إلا العالمون

All those who hold on sincerely to the honorable Aḥmadī (Tijānī) pact and its great refuge (Shaykh Ahmad al-Tijānī), are undoubtedly counted amongst the Sons of the Prophet ﷺ by the Special Ones of the Elevated Muḥammadī Faction [ḥaḍratu ʾl-khatmiyyata ʾl-ʿaliyya].

Just as they call this Aḥmadī Murīd; a ṣāḥib of the Prophet ﷺ, a faqīr of the Prophet ﷺ, a tilmīdh of the Prophet ﷺ, and a ḥabīb of the Prophet ﷺ; they also consider him a sharīf from the pure Household of the Prophet ﷺ, even if his blood lineage is not confirmed.

Yes! He is undoubtedly a Sharīf by the fact that he has entered this elevated Muḥammadī Faction, which is the elite and chosen Circle of the Prophet ﷺ, which has been honored [tasharrafat] by his ﷺ Honor [sharaf] even before the Creation of the Heavens and the Earth.
