THE DIVINE
PERFECTION OF MUHAMMAD (SAW)

صل على سيدنا محمد الفاتح لما اغلق والخاتم لما سبق ناصر الحق بالحق والهادي
الى صراطك المستقيم وعلى اله حق قدره ومقداره العظيم
The purpose of this existence was God’s
desire to create Muhammad (SAW). It was God’s eternal love for Muhammad (SAW),
which was His love for the image of His own Perfection. The Qu’ran testifies
that God has been praising Muhammad (SAW) forever (Inna ’Llaha wa Mala’ikatahu
Yusalluna ala ’n-Nabi). This praise, love and desire for Muhammad was not due
to any dependency or need of God for Muhammad (SAW). Rather, it was because God
had eternally decided to manifest his own Perfection, Beauty, and Glory through
the creation of the being of Muhammad (SAW).
Muhammad (SAW) then is the most perfect, most
complete and most beautiful Creation of God. He is also the greatest Sign of
God, and the complete Pathway to Him. Many scholars of Tafsir have contended
that the Qur’anic term “Sirat-al-Mustaqim” (i.e. the Straight Path) refers to
the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Some exegetes have also contended that Allah’s
command to us to hold on to “His Rope” (Wa’tasimu bi-Habli’Llahi Jami’an)
refers to holding on to the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Indeed, it is through Muhammad (SAW) that God
revealed His Desired Name “Allah”. It is through Muhammad (SAW) that Allah
revealed the Qu’ran, the final and complete Guidance for mankind. It is through
Muhammad (SAW) that Allah displayed to Mankind how He wishes to be worshipped
and praised. Therefore, no act of worship is accepted by Allah unless it
conforms to the Way of Muhammad (SAW).
In reality, Muhammad (SAW) is the first and
only Being that Allah loved. Indeed, the Sunnah does not ascribe the title
Habib-Allah (Beloved of Allah) to anyone save Muhammad (SAW). Even the Father
Abraham (A.S.) is referred to as “the Intimate Friend of Allah”, but not “the
Beloved”. Through Muhammad (SAW), Allah has even revealed to mankind how He
wishes us to eat, drink, and relieve ourselves. So, Muhammad (SAW) is the
perfect Voice and Display of Allah’s Will in Existence.
All of Creation - all of us - are in need of
Muhammad (SAW) for our own very existence. The Ahadith confirm that Allah told
our father Adam (A.S.), “Had it not been for Muhammad I would not have created
the heavens and the earth, and had it not been for Muhammad I would not have
created you!”.
More that that, the Qur’an itself confirms
that Allah sent Muhammad (SAW) as “Rahmatu ’l-lil-Alamin” (i.e. Mercy for all
Existence). According to scholars of Arabic, the term ‘Alamin’ refers to
‘Everything in Creation’. Muhammad (SAW) is the Mercy for all creation because
it is for his sake that they came into existence.
Indeed, the creation of everything in this
world is complimentary to the Creation of Muhammad (SAW), and an introduction
to him. It is for this reason that all the Angels carrying this worldly
existence are also praising Muhammad (SAW)… (wa Mala’ikatahu Yusalluna ala
’n-Nabi).
The Qur’an confirms that everything in the
Heavens and the Earth has been subjected to the Human being. The cream of
humankind are the Prophets, the real true humans. The most complete and perfect
of these prophets is our Master Muhammad (SAW). Therefore, he is known as
“al-Insan al-Kamil” (The Complete Human) and the “Khatam al-Nabiyyin” (Seal of
the Prophets).
He himself stated in an authentic hadith that
that there has not been a Prophet of Allah who did not inform his people about
the coming of the Final Prophet (SAW). Indeed, one of the fundamental duties of
each Prophet was to herald the advent of Muhammad (SAW). All spoke of him and
all displayed a little bit of what was to be completely manifested in Muhammad
(SAW).
And then Muhammad (SAW) came! He came as the
First and the Last. The First Thought of God before the physical world was
created, and the Last Prophet of God to reveal the Final thoughts of God for
Mankind.
Today there are those who are claiming that
the ‘Finality’ of Muhammad (SAW) simply means that he was the ‘Only Complete
Prophet’ of Allah, but not the Last Prophet. Therefore, it would be possible
for a new prophet to be sent after Muhammad (SAW), but he would not be as
‘Complete’ as Muhammad (SAW), but a follower of Muhammad (SAW)!!!
I say to such foolish people; If Allah has
already given us the ‘Only Complete Prophet,’ i.e. Muhammad (SAW), then we
Muslims are most fortunate and satisfied to follow him. But you can follow your
new ‘incomplete’ prophet if you wish to!!!
Indeed, the very name of the so-called
British-Indian false ‘prophet’ mirza ghulam ahmad Qadiyani states that he was
no more than a slave of Muhammad, ‘Ghulam Ahmad’! So why should we Muslims go
past the Master and follow the slave? We are and will always remain
Muhammadans’ and not ‘Ahmadis’.
Some of mirza’s followers today are claiming
that this self-proclaimed ‘prophet’ was just a ‘reformer’ and ‘reviver’ of
Islam. I state that the history of Islam has seen many great revivers of the
Din, who served Islam a hundred times more than mirza qadiyani, yet none of
them claimed to a ‘Nabi’ or ‘Rasul’ like mirza did. Noble men such as Imam
Shafi’i (RA), Imam Ghazali (RA), Shaykh Abd-al-Qadir Jilani (RA), Shaykh Ahmad
al-Tijani (RA), Shaykh Uthman Dan Fodio (RA), Shaykh Ibrahima Niyass (RA) and
others, served Islam in ways that the qadiyani cannot even come close to.
Yet, despite their greatness, they only
claimed to be the humblest of servants in front of Sayyidina Muhammad
Rasul-Allah (SAW). They did not overstep their limits by claiming Nubuwwah
(prophethood). This deception of Shaytan was only reserved for those misguided
ones who did not yet comprehend the Total Completeness of Muhammad (SAW) and
his Din. Such people are no different from the Yahud and the Nasara who also
did not comprehend the Completeness and Perfection of Muhammad (SAW).
The only difference between them is that the
former ignorantly hold on to previous Prophets, while the latter foolishly
follow the so-called ‘new prophet’.
The Ahadith mention that many of the previous
Prophets had actually prayed to Allah to make them amongst the Ummah of Muhammad
(SAW)! But mirza of qadiyan and his followers want to be out! We say to them:
There is no compulsion in Religion, you are free to leave Islam if you wish to,
going beyond Muhammad (SAW) is going beyond Islam. But we Muslims are satisfied
with Sayyiduna Muhammad as our Prophet (SAW).
The blessed Prophet (SAW) had lots of
patience and tolerance for such people in his lifetime, as he knew that Allah
will expose their falseness.
The Perfection, Uniqueness and Sufficiency of
Muhammad (SAW) for his followers is manifest and clear. Nothing can hide that
Ever-bright Sun of Madinah. The Sahabi Hassan bin Thabit (RA) wrote about this
Muhammadan Perfection:
More beautiful than
You my eyes have never seen!
Indeed, no woman
can give birth to anyone better than You!
You were created
completely free of all defects
As if You yourself
planned your own creation
And Imam al-Busiri (RA) wrote of this
Perfection in his celebrated poem al-Burdah:
He (SAW) surpassed
all Prophets in his Physical Creation and in his Character
And they could not
match him in his Knowledge nor his Generosity
Indeed, every
miracle that the Prophets displayed
Was borrowed by
them from his (Muhammadan) light
It is impossible for him (SAW) to have a
partner in his qualities
Indeed, the Essence of his (Muhammadan)
beauty is undividable.
May Allah open the eyes to see this
Perfection. May our hearts be satisfied with it. May we live and die in the
shadow of this Perfection. And may we be raised up on the Day of Judgment as
Muhammadans. Amen.
