SAYYIDA FATIMATOU ZAHRA NIASSE (RA), KNOWN AS YAFATOU
(The Daughter
of a Qutb, Wife of a Qutb and Mother of a Qutb)
As-Salam Alaykum,
Above is a lovely picture of Our Tijani
Mother the saintly Sayyida Fatimatou Zahra Niasse (RA), known as Yafatou.
She is the eldest daughter of
Shaykh-al-Islam Ibrahim Niasse (RA), the wife of the Complete Khalifah Saydi
Ali Cisse, and the Mother of Imam-al-Faydah Shaykh Hassan Cisse (RA).
She is justifiably renowned as the Daughter
of a Qutb, Wife of a Qutb and Mother of a Qutb.
In her earlier days she would teach the
Qur’an, pray Five Times a Day in the Grand Ibrahimi Mosque, and regularly
travel to Makkah, Madinah and Fez.
Her Dua is most Mustajab, and her Karamat
are well known. I had the honor of visiting her thrice, once with Shaykh Hassan
(RA) as well.
It is narrated that in the early years of
her marriage, he experienced a few miscarriages. So, when she was pregnant with
Shaykh Hassan (RA), she asked Mawlana Shaykh-al-Islam (RA) for a special prayer
for safety. The Shaykh (RA) gave her the Sandal of the Prophet (SAW) that he
had to keep in her room and in her sight. He also advised that the baby be
delivered on his own personal bed.
So the baby was born safe and sound. As he
was the child of ALI and FATIMA, the Shaykh (RA) named the baby HASSAN, and
prayed that he inherit the Secret of Imam Hassan bin Ali (RA). (The compete Dua
he made at that birth is preserved)

Among her sons are also our Masters Shaykh
Tijani Cisse and Shaykh Mahy Cisse.

When Shaykh Tijani was born, Shaykh Ibrahim
(RA) immediately named him “al-Shaykh al-Tijani”. The father Saydi Ali Cisse
(RA) wrote: “I pray that my son becomes a complete Khalifah of Shaykh al-Tijani
(RA).”

Also when our Mother Yafatu Niasse was
pregnant with Shaykh Mahy she saw the Prophet (SAW) ordering her to name the
child “Muhammad al-Mahy”. She hid the dream from everyone. When the baby was
born and was taken to Shaykh Ibrahim (RA) for giving the name. He automatically
named the child, “Muhammad al-Mahy.”

Mahi is a name of the Prophet (SAW), and it
means, “The Eraser.” The Prophet (SAW) was named Mahi because he came to erase
Kufr and Shirk from the hearts of people and from this earth.
Al-HumduliLlah! Through Shaykh “Mahy”, much
confusion has also been erased and effaced.

It is with sadness that we share the news of the demise of our beloved Mother, the saintly Sayyida Fatimatou Zahra Niasse (RA), known as Yafatou...on the 30th June, 2020.
May Allah grant her the highest place in jannah. May her gentle soul be with the sāliheen and shuhadā, bijahi Muhammad Rasulullah, Ameen!
Usually,
before I leave Medina-Baye, I ask for a sign of the acceptance of the Ziyarah.
Al-Humdulillah, in my previous trip I always recived that sign on the day I
left. I was wondering what it would be this time, and it was somethign I wanted
to see for a long time: The SANDAL OF RASUL-ALLAH (SAW) that was in the care
of Shaykh Ibrahim (RA).
Al-Humdulillah, I was shown this by surprise just the
night before I travelled to Dakar for my flight, as my host's pregnant wife had
it in her room! Shaykh Ibrahim (RA) had given this BLESSED SANDAL to his
daughter Sayyida Fatima Zahra for Tabarruk and Protection when she was pregnant
with our Shaykh Imam Hassan Cisse (RA), as she feared a msicarriage once again.
Since then, the women of the family are given this BLESSED SANDAL for tabarruk
during their pregnancies.
This BLESSED SANDAL was given by the Prophet (SAW) to Sayyidna Uthman (RA). It
was kept in his family for generations. Someone from that family gave it to
Shaykh Ibrahim (RA) during his trip to Paris. The man lived in Paris and was
ordered in a dream to hand it to Shaykh Ibrahim (RA) when he was in Paris. May
we always walk in his footsteps.
